i've used this type of wire seal on my transducer. it has worked well on my lowrance x67c. the cables ran fine into it and the cap fit tight and kept the water out.
since then i have changed my unit to a hummingbird, unfortunately the cables are a bit bigger and i had hard time running the cables thru the opening. i ended up having to drill out a bit of plastic out of it to allow clearance for the cables.
once i drilled the extra materiel out, the rubber seal did not fit, so i ended up using some goop to create a water tight seal. this has been a good solution for me. it definitely works better than pushing some extra foam into the hole aka stinkymatt.
