I'd buy the Tarpon and try it first, if you didn't like it then I would consider looking at something else. I have a Hobie which I love, but I still take my Tarpon out every now and then.

No controversy at all. I just think that everyone know about haw good a Tarpons are and with that type of deal I would think I was a no brainer. Different strokes for different folks. You may have an epiphany moment later down the line, but as long as you get on the water and are comfortable, that's what matters.
