YEP, $200 a day for 4-5 fishermen or divers. Panga now at our place, no need to chase one down at Gonzaga.

Other possibilities beckon--chase yellowtail in Gonzaga proper, fish the pristine waters of Punta Final. I think my head is about to explode! |

Buddha, I may take you up on the cooking thing. What kind of food are you thinking of? Anyone know which nights are still open for cooking?

Thanks Bob for the report.
since there are teethy fish in the bay, do you always use steel leader, or only switch when you start seeing the mean guys? Most of the fish do not require steel leaders, but the ones that do, really do. |

Never. I go until I have no more leader left then just straight tie spectra.
Even in wfo sierra losses are low personally.

Are the Pangas big enough to take;
kayaks, fishing gears, camping gears, cooler/s and passengers? Or does he make several trips? Do we sleep under sky or in a tent? |

I doubt there'd be room (or need) for a cooler, but I guess that depends on how many people go. I'll probably pack like I'm backpacking (every ounce counts and not taking anything that isn't absolutely ESSENTIAL). I may bring my jet boil with some oil/spices to cook fish. I'm not taking anything I couldn't carry on my kayak to paddle back to the mainland in case our ride back doesn't show up ![]() |

A panga will not fit kayaks

I gather the kayaks will be towed here.
I have seen it inside the Panga at Cedros Island pictures. No overnight camping there. According to Bob, it is best NOT to sleep on the floor, especially if you are not in a tent. Little critters, you know. I think being the first time, I will pass on the Panga trip. |

The island is San Luis Gonzaga and it is about 4.5 miles from my place.
As to what to take to the island less is always better. Take just what you need.

I'm making my first trip to Gonzaga with a buddy. Do we need licenses to fish on the shore, kayak or float tube?
