As has been stated already, take it to Andy at OEX Sunset Beach; he'll repair it for far less that you'll be expecting, and it will be done right. It will be far less hassle than trying to deal with the guy that sold it to you. And a few steps away from Andy's shop, you can even take it for a test spin after the repairs. I'll wager a case of Negro Modelo that you won't regret taking it to Andy. And the cost of that case will be about what he'll charge you, so it's a no lose situation if you win the wager; however I know it's a no lose wager for me.

Oh damn, what a POS for not telling you about that damage!

I'm glad you were able to get it resolved quickly.

I went to OEX and Andy hooked it up big time!!! Of course I needed a new battery and charger, so I came out on top, pun intended

Thanks for the input on this....

Unfortunately, the guy who I bought the kayak from, left town on vacation . Oh well, it's fishing time this weekend for me. Thought I would try out Dana Point and see what happens.

I know about the whole 'Buyer Beware' thingy but if the seller knew about the additional cracks he's a douche bag and a half for not telling you....come to think of it he's three douche bags. Furthermore, I hope karma comes back and bites him in the arse. Fortunately, we have people like Iceman that always step up and take care of us in some form or another.

If you're willing to make the drive come join us Sunday at Cabrillo, we'll be fishing for monster lizard fish, small bass, short poisonous sculpins, shovelnose sharks, batrays, cormorants, seagulls, tires, plastic shopping bags and foam cups. It'll probably be raining and windy, there will be no sardines to use as bait, Stinkymatt will go on and on and on and on about some super secret intel that he received from an extremely credible kayaker, Roby will fish all the locations that I fished after I leave them, Wiredantz will splash everyone who is within 100 yards with water due to his paddling style, parking is $9 and its like 300miles from riverside but hopefully we'll have some bycatch......I think they call it halibut. Anyway, shoot Stinkymatt, Roby, Wiredantz or myself a PM and we'll give you more details.

P.S.
Welcome to the coocoo house

Andy fixing it at no charge is pretty cool. Fixing it yourself probably would have cost $15 - $25 with uncertain results.
