How do you guys call it - lubin, lubina? I've caught a few of those back in the Adriatic. We were doing it "peskafondo" style (I believe it's Italian word?) - basically, just a line in your hand, nor rod & reel.

Pretty sure it's the same fish.

3+ kilo is a big deal! Congrats!

In Portugal we call him "Robalo"!

Lubina is the spanish name for the same fish,

Robalo is how we call "Snook" in South America, a salt water bay fish like the ones in Florida.
