Wavster,
I'm just goofing around. Not trying to piss anyone off. I just got back from a ~15 hour car ride where we caught fish smaller than that in some really nice conditions. Who is doing the report? threadjack over.

Whenever I read anyones report I always wish I was on the water instead of working.

Adi, you're classier than that.

I don't want to tick anyone off either, and I can appreciate some ribbing, but if you don't
know me or I don't know you, it comes off as arrogance.

I fish for my own enjoyment, not for anyone else's. I also don't need it for food, so I
release most of what I catch.

FWIW, I went out today to test some new colors, stormy conditions and to check out a couple of "new" spots.

Some of you guys crack me up. If this is your claim to fame, you're lame. I'm just talking
about the elitists who take this all too seriously.

MadScientist, I get the impression you are trying to insult me. You know, the ironic
thing is, I stuck up for you this morning... and I don't even know you. I stuck up for your right
to catch and keep as much as you want. If you want to insult me, do it in person, not behind some muppet avatar.

Besides, I might just paddle up next to you and park in "your" spot at LJ and fish
for surf perch with my Popiel's Pocket Fisherman.

Chill out dude, just another bass joke. The whole "elitist" thing is largely a joke as well, but irony and sarcasm are not always evident on the net I guess. You don't have to defend yourself to me or anyone else on this or any other board. It's just a silly fishing forum.

But I didn't know my muppet avatar speaks. As for the "spot" thing. My "spot" is the same as your "spot" and everyone else's "spot". Mainly, it's the spot I'm on at any given time. We should all respect each other's "spots".

Adi, you're just jealous. Tyler, don't always hop on board, I can make an ass of myself perfectly fine on my own.

Great report Wavster, but after reading the replies here and that other 3+ page long post you and some of those other bitches need to get laid.

"Can't we all just mess around?"

Definitely true. It's not a biggie to me. I was just adding to the 'Edge.

Believe me, I'm not into the bass thing either. I'd rather catch 1 good Bonito or YT then a whole day of bass fishing.

While we are on the subject, I'd like to clarify something. I almost never keep bass. In fact, I think I have killed all of 2 sand bass in my life. One to eat (found it not good), and one for lobster bait (found it didn't work well). I've killed around a dozen calicos for the occassional tacos or tournaments. I've never killed a spotty. I like to joke about bass but in reality I probably account for a lot less mortality than the serious C&R fisherman. The only fish I've ever killed and not made an effort to see eaten was a barracuda for last years CTF, and that was mainly because it had been in the sun for hours before I got back to shore. My rape of the ocean this year so far = 2 YT & 2 lobster. But let's hope that changes soon.

Brad, that's why I defended your position. I saw several posts about you being a killing machine
with 7 rods, blah, blah, blah. My position is, if you eat it, great. I'm willing to bet the casual
fisherman kills more with ignorance than most experienced anglers do with their legal take.
Especially when you consider the long term effects of undersized or mating fish.

I don't keep anything but yellowtail and lobster. I guess that's because I'm still looking for
a legal halibut and WSB. This season, I've kept 11 lobster, with 4 being over 4lbs and
1 nearly 5lbs. I guess that adds up to more than 35lbs of lobster this season.
In 2006, I took just over 25lbs of YT with 3 firecrackers the first 2 weeks I started kayak fishing, in Sept.
Nothing else...oh except maybe about 50lbs of mackeral.

Sarcasm definitely doesn’t come through that well on the net, we all know that… I was actually on your side as I’m getting tired of these bass jokes. That ‘lil smiley was supposed to indicate that.

Brad has definitely taken this whole bass/big fish ragging to a whole new level. It is highly entertaining and funny (at least for me), and (at least) for the most part… But it's getting old.

I think Brad is just steering shit to attract people to the board… and it looks like it’s working like a charm.

Did someone just threw the f word?? Please be considerate, my grandma is reading this board.

One other funny thing, the 7 rods I believe comes from the thresher pic with Chris. The reason there were 7 rods behind me is that I had taken a couple from Chris and Pat to clear their boats for dealing with the shark. It's amazing the things people pick up on and then assume.

I usually take 4-5 rod, occasionally 6 if I'm undecided what I'm going to do that day.

I guess the whole bass joking should go on ice till next winter. Still, it's pretty funny when fishing publications are taking a big joke seriously.

Nice turdroller Wavster Its fun to get out in those conditions.....sometimes.

I think most of us don't take the ribbing very seriously.

Fact - A Yellowtail is more fun to catch than a bass
Fact - Calicos make INSANE ceviche
Fact - Bass take more skill to catch
