why not just use the yakima rack from the accord and just get some q-clips for the civic?

That's part of the plan. The car has a sunroof so I cannot afford to just lay the kayak on the roof.

![]() This is how I transport on my wife's Beetle, because they never made roof racks for my 240SX. The two yellow straps keep the yak from sliding horizontally. Front and rear straps keep the yak from sliding longitudinally. This setup is solid to 75mph... never really tried to venture above that. For reference, the yak is a Pelican 130T with a 36" beam and 13'0 length, so it's not a small yak by any means. ![]() ![]() |
