Go to BOLA, just watch the wind. Don't yak out to the islands unless you are very familiar with the wind and let people on the beach know what you're plan is.... the wind in not to be F'd with!

Bay of LA is an amazing place with a spectacular variety of gamefish, however conditions can be very trecherous as Owyn said. It's the closest you can get to Baja Sur style fishing without the 14 hr drive, but the wind can completely shut you down.
If you're considering a longer trip on the Cortez side, Loreto gets my vote. Incredible city with vibrant local culture and the fishing can be epic fairly near shore, especially to the north of isla coronado. Buen Viaje y Mucha Suerte! |
