Buy yourself some huddleston lures and go to lake silverwood!
Very beautiful, huge lake, great camping, and chance to catch 5-30lb stripers!

Doheney State Park

Just need to reserve your spot 6 months in advance OR the ranger tells me. . . from time to time during the week they have cancelations that are offered on a first come first serve basis.

I just saw some pictures of carpinteria st. Beach and it looks awesome... Is shore fishing allowed there as well? I've been looking for a place that you can camp right off the beach and fish the shoreline with my boys... This place looks like it hit it right on the head... Thanks....

any of the campgrounds in the big sur area. Beautiful large pines and cypress everywhere. Dozens of hiking trails, close and mostly easy coastal access, and beautiful coastline. To boot, epic fishing from the kayak or from shore. There is an inshore rockfish fishery up there that even puts local inshore boat stuff to shame. Multiple times ive seen 20+ lb lingcod and big blue and brown rockfish and massive cabezon.

if you plan on fishing the shore or the kayaks check out www.pierfishing.com and look up a guy surf samurai and he should point you in the right direction for fishing from shore. Lots of guys on there that can point you in the right direction on launch points for the kayak as well.
