I had a 5AH 12V that would power my little humminbird for 3 trips before I would have to recharge. The larger units use up more energy, but I would not be surprised if the battery lasted longer than you might expect. Might test it on a full charge to see how long it will last before spending the dough on a heavier battery. Good luck.

I'd go with a 9 or 10 Ah battery if I were you, imo.
