What do you mean by "light" tackle? 10lb line?
Stradic 1000, 15lb braid, UglyStik in the 6-12lb range, no wire, no leader, circle hooks. The other outfit was actually rigged for halibut, just in case, Calcutta 200, 25lb braid, 25lb flouro leader. The leapords definately prefered the spinning reel.

Nice video David, thanks for the post. Looks like you had a long, action-filled day at Capo reefs. Those calm seas are a real pleasure. I was out at the point in similar conditions the day before-got a couple hali but only 2-3 bites total. Planning to go to LJ on Tues(8/28). You available to join me?

That is a fun spot. Lots of variety there.

Good work. How does Leopard shark taste? (probably like chicken, duh!).

Good work, busy day.

Got it, thanks, see you there.

It has a light flavor and a nice texture. Very good.

Live dines on a halibut rig for the Calcutta, the spinning reel was flylined dines with a split shot just to keep them down from the birds. The fly lined seemed to get better results. The Calico's also hit the flylined dines.

Geat vid and that looked a beautiful day. Farming fish sucks but it looks like you got your groove back and gathered your chi. Maybe keeping the same F-it out look you had for the leopards next time you hook a more quality fish will improve the out come. Mike
