Giant esqueeed...

Here's a story for you all, might get a kick out of...

Couple years back one of the dads at Clay's school, Chuck, was putting together a kids and dads afternoon fishing trip and sent Clay home with a note, knew us from the MLPA crap, wanting to know if we would come along, help out and bring some extra gear.

We go out of Helgrens, no fish anywhere, none of the kids catching. The Captain comes over and tells us that the esqueed are outside, should we take a run to the? Heck ya, the kids would love it.

We get outside, they are everywhere, kids having a blast, I happened to have a big esqueed jig, these boys were brutes, 40# range...kids and dads having a blast, everyone got to tug on one or two. Deckhands would bring them over the rail, and step on their heads to remove them, don't know which group was more in awe, the kids or the dads. One dad, non-fisher, couldn't get one, so I help him out, let him use my setup, nothing...so I start 'showing' him how to do it, jig up and down, I have one on but don't tell him...poor guy didn't realize one was on, just sat there jigging...I tell him to sweep the tip up hard, finally, he feels it, his first one. Clay and I ended up going home with 3.

Now here's the fun part...I cleaned a couple and vacuum sealed a bunch to give to friends, etc.

I had one sans head, sticking out of a big black trash bag, talking with a neighbor girl the next day...now, picture this thing is thick, grayish, with a bit of red color to it. Neighbor guy walks by, sees it, and asks what it is...I tell him I think it's a human thigh (it did look like one) and Olga (Brazilian) is right on cue, and says "Yeah, Martin found it in the dumpster..."

That guy did a wide loop to avoid us, eyes wide open in fear, started telling us we were crazy and how he wants nothing to do with us...he was literally walking as fast as he could to get away from us, to the point he was almost running...his initial reaction was hilarious!

Best part is, he had just moved in to the hood...
