There's a deep primal satisfaction knowing that your offspring will never go hungry because of the knowledge you have passed-down to him; just like the generation before you did (I'm guessing). Every time Roman out fishes me I can't help but smile and think "my job is done here!" You know that smile. It's a long lasting smile.

Fishing with your kids is very satisfying, especially when it starts turning from "babysitting on the water with rods" to actual fishing.





A great lake to get your mojo back if you have had some tough fishing in the salt lately like me.

Very nice post Matt, and yes that time when you think he "might" outfish you has already come to pass, however the pride you will undoubtedly feel from now on is priceless, enjoy it, because that time is gone in an instant...nice job dad!
