shovel nose is good to eat AND...
the shovel nose shout can be made into a nice pair of flip flops if it is dried properly....

People have reported even bat rays are fantastic eating when you punch little scallops out of the wings with a cookie cutter

On the east coast we eat Cownose rays (bay scallops). Meat isnt what you think it would be. Personally I brine it for a day and then marinade and grill on the bbq. delicious! taste more like steak than fish.
