People will recommend waders or splash pants but they are usually expensive.
If all you want is to stay dry on top the yak then any cheap rain suit pants would work just fine. I think you can pick up one of those two piece PVC rain suits from Big5 for like $10 and just use the pants.

Whatever you get they have to be breathable or you will be hot, uncomfortable and soaked in sweat. I use a pair of lightweight hiking pants that have the zip-off legs so they convert to shorts. I don't ever zip them off because I prefer the sun protection, but it's nice having the option. The new lycra type materials used now are awesome as they are like wearing nothing, have a high SPF for sun protection and they dry super fast.
