Dana Launch Intel
Been a long time since I have been to Dana Point. Looking to go out of the boat ramp, which I have not done before. What's the scoop? $10, smooth bills I got. What's the bait situation & cost? Head North or South? Not looking for secret spots, just enough to get me in the right direction smoothly tomorrow morning. Enter off Embarcadero or Golden Lantern?

If you want to skip a scoop, there is also a good amount of bait to be made inside and outside the harbor. Good size smelt around the bait dock, and nice greenbacks and Spanish north of the harbor near the kelp. If I were going out, I'd head out to the pipe, or North toward the headlands. Pipe is easy to find right now, due to all the buoys. I got about a 30lber in about 70 feet earlier this week on a greenback, so the fish are out there. Good luck

Turns out I have some new kayaks coming, so once they are stowed away I will be heading out. Hoping to be on the water before 10am............but ya never know! I do plan on getting bait and fishing the pipe.
