I had a pair of grey whales surface about 20 feet behind my Kayak and dive under me. If I was thinking fast enough I could have put my camera in the water to video them, instead I was holding on for my life and filming the swirls from the tail kick. It's a good wake up call for sure.

That must have been some interaction!
![]() ![]() All this past week I have had a few close encounters with them as well.. Below is one from a few months ago that was pretty close..Although not a surface feeding frenzy, but probably should have moved faster after watching this, but i was just making bait & could see the whale approaching right at me, so I chose to wind up my sabiki instead..could have been Flukeapulted into the Children's pool... ![]() •
