Just called fishermans landing and the confirmed that bluefin is closed for the rest of the year. Goes into effect tonight. Can't believe they would do this in the middle of the bite. Sucks for my 4 day next week.

Does anyone know what the health of the BF population is like in the Pacific?
With efficiency and size of Commercial purse seiners and gill netters, I'd be surprised if they don't become an endangered species like ![]() Anyone familiar with the show "Wicked Tuna" should be able to figure out that since the Atlantic and Mediterranean is being protected (e.g. Prince Edward is C&R ONLY!) The worlds fishing fleets had to go somewhere...any guesses where ??? ![]() The demand is outstripping the supply!!! I haven't heard of any VW size BF on the outer banks or for years. Has anyone else? Then on the other hand It could be because of the radiation levels of the fish from the Fukishima Nuclear spill and don't want any liability issues(?) ![]() FFY |

Posted on other boards. It only applies to commercial fishing and not sports boats... So for now the sports fleet are fine.

Now I'm REALLY praying for a powerful "El Niño"! FFY My understanding after reading many blogs/sites commercials fishing Mexican waters may have already met their 5,000 ton quotas, and to protect possible overfishing they have shut down all BF fishing for the year for everyone! I would not have posted if this did not include recreational fishermen. But unfortunately for us it does. Which really sucks for the guys with trips coming up. But I'm sure that they will get into some other species . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

![]() I don't know about highlighters but a portable airbrush may work. Just make sure you have enough paint! |
