That strap looks like it is a knee brace, for extra control while paddling.

On my tarpon 140, the seat is built in.
Possibly the same deal here, though this one looks a bit more Cush. |

This just might be the boat I've been waiting for to replace my old Ride 135
 I'm drooling over the storage and the FF pod thingamagigy!!!! And I think that padded strap is for carrying the yak?? |
