You won't get rid of all the wind noise. You just have to tune the vehicle/yak combo until you get something you can live with.
My yak whistles like crazy when it is mounted directly on the center of my rack. If I move it over a foot I can hardly hear it. Of course; you could just roll up your windows and it won't seem a loud. ![]()

You'll hear the wind at higher speeds, that's normal.
Cranking up the radio helps. ![]()

A good way to cut down on wind noise is to not transport the kayak anywhere...theres no more fish in San Diego.

Noise
NJV05, I've had several different types of kayaks on top of my car. The Mini -X is the only one that made noise. More like a howl than a whistle, (Woooooooooo). The first time I heard it I thought there was something wrong with my car.....
