I'll tell you what is happening here, Harry. It's not your fault, but when having a tandem discussion one has to be cautious about how the word "Malibu" is used. Ocean Kayak manufactures the Malibu II and Malibu II XL. Malibu Kayaks manufactures the "Pro 2 Tandem". Initially I assumed that you were looking at the OK Malibu Series (especially after referencing the Angler model), but a couple posts later it seems you MIGHT also be referencing the Malibu Kayaks P2T?

Who's on first? =)

Happens to me a lot. Especially if people think "ocean kayak" as a type rather than a brand.

I was confused, it isn't easy when you don't know there is a difference, Ocean Kayaks Malibu, or Malibu Kayaks. If I can't make myself clear how can anyone else understand what I'm asking? Then I ask a sales guy about the angler while looking at the Malibu and he's telling me they don't sell the angler any more because people want to do their own set ups, when what he should have said is they don't sell the Ocean Kayaks Malibu 11 xl angler at all. I just hope I make the right choice with the Malibu Pro 2 tandem.

The Jackson is a beauty, its also four times more. I'm an old retired guy who is trying to learn how to live on a much restricted budget. There are a lot of things I can do with the difference in cost, like buy a good FF and VHF radio and other important things. I'm still not going out in the open ocean because of a lack of equipment. So there are things more important to me than having the cream of the crop. I'm happy for those who can go that route but it isn't me right now.
