An old guy should know better. Live and learn regarding securing gear. Not that big a deal considering life's real problems. Caught on a dropper just off the bottom. Thanks for the congrats all. The fish kicked my fanny. Just took off the grill and ready to enjoy.

Yea Murry I learned the hard way. First ever trip out in the ocean on my yak - LJ. Just caught my first yellow and had everything secured except the rod I was fishing. Put the rod in the holder and was trying to secure my yellow under the bungee cord on my outback and flipped. Lost my new Calcutta 400 and Phoenix rod. $550 lesson. I know the feeling. Beat you leash everything from now on. Great work today!!

Congrats!
That is very rewarding to get the fish, sounds like you are stoked enough that you are having a good attitude about the rod. Sorry to hear about that though. Feel free to send me the picture and I can post it for you if you need a hand. -Ryan |
