Hey Bob. Do you ever catch the hold spot bass in Gonzaga? They're in the same genus (paralabrax) as dpotyies, dandies, and Calis. I think the Mexicans call them estrahenos. Beautiful fish n great eating. Mike

This last trip to Gonzaga produced 100 fish days for a couple guys. Bass were all over the place, from the beach to 130 feet. Bigger bass, to 4 pounds were caught in deeper water..............water was between 72-77 degrees, mornings seemed much fishier. After high tide things really slowed down. Tight Lines.

4th of July trip was good to great fishing for Spotties, a couple in the 4-5 pound class were caught on the FLY. With many smaller fish lineing up to take your fly, cast after cast, almost non stop action. Water temps at 85 degrees. Tight Lines.

Spring Baja Bass
Spring is almost here. Time to be thinking about warmer weather and Baja Bass. Spotties should be getting on the chew, Spring and early summer trips are the best time of the year for spotted bass around Gonzaga. Throw in some triggers and a cabrilla or two and it can be 100+ fish days for those few anglers willing to brave the possible Spring winds. Tight Lines.
