There Is an article on Bloody Decks/Outdoors Local Knowledge from Gary Graham. Don't know if its any new info from his book, but the article was published in 2013.

I have a spearo friend here in Asuncion that goes down there several times a year. I'll try to pick his brain. Not exactly my kind of fishing but maybe I should take a trip to check it out.

I've spent hours and hours on Google Earth over the years dreaming about that place. I pretty much came to the conclusion that the bay is so big, that trying to hit multiple locations would be difficult, unless I was staying multiple weeks.
I just re-visited the maps and cut this area out I had identified earlier - north of Adolfo Lopez Mateos - nice wide beach access hilighted on the right to camp and launch from, with tons of mangrove channels to the north, and access out to the main channel easily doable for Halibut and WSB. Just for reference, the little dots straight out from the launch are a whole group of Pangas one mile out using the Google ruler - I'm going to guess fishing, since the image date is early October, a little too early for whales.
Lopez Mateos is also a good place to hook up with a mother ship charter, or super panga to head out for Wahoo action.
Wherever the trip ends up, it's going to be awesome I'm sure.
I'm going to try very hard to be on this trip Bob...

It is time to try and put this together. Last year I spent NEW YEARS EVE in Gonzaga. I would really like to do it again this year. Buddha sang MEXICAN.
So my proposal is to leave 30 DEC for our place in Gonzaga spend NEW YEARS day there then leave early on the 2nd for Mag Bay. We would drive thru Coco's Corner to Chapala then south on Mex 1 to Mag Bay. That road is passable for most vechicles, made it fine last year with one wheel drive pick up. Or you guy's could meet up with me at Chapala. Let me know if we can work this out. Thanks, Tight Lines.
