A guy at the NorCal Kayakers forum recommended Leffingwell also. Just so I can understand better what is it about leffingwell's geography that would make it the best choice?

Most of the swells originate from the northwest. Leff is a cove that is protected from that. People launch aluminum boats with outboards from there

Left is my go to when fishing that area. Go early so you can get time in prior to the wind.

I use this one too
http://www.surf-forecast.com/breaks/...latest/six_day A little too far out to get an accurate report. Wind will be the biggest issue |

I fished Leffingwells last weekend sat and sun
its a protected cove you can launch there even when the swell is 10'+ but with that the seas are hard to fish anyways 4-5 is fine 5-6 is a bit bouncy any more and I would pass bottom of low and top of high tides can get a bit surgey at times fog and afternoon wind is more of an issue fog can be thick and wind is mostly guaranteed early afternoon water temps are cold I bought a farmer john wet suit for there specifically made by NRS and works great fishing was slow sat and decent sun wind stayed mellow both days Leffingwell is at leffingwell creek just at the north end of moonstone beach cambria and south of san simeon and slow means I still managed 5 keepers including a toad red good luck my fav place to fish prob P Last edited by radastaff; 06-10-2016 at 11:42 AM. |

how is Morro Bay when the waters outside are too rough? Seems that this time of year the halibut should be biting pretty good up there.
