Want some insane top speed? Forget polyethylene plastic yaks. Carbon fiber is the way to go.

Not sure how heavy you are, but you can get 8-9kts top speed with only steady effort.

I have a 525 and it weighs less ten 50 lbs, LIGHT and fast, but inital stability is soft.

Any secondary stability to it? If I ever go back to paddling I'll be getting a 475 or 525.

get a Stealth and laugh at all the (peddle kayak) guys worried about 1' surf.
if you dont agree with the price. go with a Trident 15.

I had a trident 13 for many years and loved it. The new tridents however have a much better seat. In my opinion the seat is a make or break. If I didn't love my outback so much I would get another trident. like the others have said it punches through surf with ease, its fast, and there is a ton of storage space with the rod pod (which I miss)
