Illegal in California, which has the highest standards, the rest of the states are typically years behind in protecting the public. A few counties have limited regulations, but Lead sinkers are still widely used in most of Floridah...... Even split shots.

Thankfully, I have soft enamel teeth and used my dikes to pinch the shots, but I know of plenty times when people did not know better and there are no big warnings on any lead sinker products even today in Florida.


Often times there are items in the store that say, "not for sale in the state of California" When it says that, it is usually better leave that item on the shelf.
