Launch at the end of Balboa street. 55 south turns into Newport Avenue, then into Balboa street. Stay left all the way threw the neighborhoods It will fork twice, stay left. Launch will be on ur left side. Its the closest non surf launch to where you want to fish. Pm or cal me if you need more directions. |

Time the tides
If you time your launch w/the tides and are used to pacing yourself, try the Coast Guard Beach. You need wheels and need to get there early, limited street parking due to construction. But you have a restroom, outside shower to wash off the sand, and your vehicle will be parked. The paddle is probably less than 200 yards more than Balboa. You will appreciate the amenities when you land. Also saves 20 minutes of driving on Balboa Peninsula.
