I think there's supposed to be something toxic with squid egg sacs to other fish.

Regarding squid eggs.... According to a seiner captain and long time commercial fisherman and friend of mine from the mlpa meetings absolutely nothing eats squid eggs. More often then not fish swim through the eggs ignoring them but picking up and eating all the fresh dead squid around them.
