The last two time we helped carry your kayak your yak nearly split in half from all the weight. What do you carry in that thing?

Frank, there is a bus service there, limited luggage. They also have a gear service, what we got, as I remember it, was about a 20' steakbed, piled everything in the back and climbed in, a few of us had to take the bus.
If you wheel your yak across and paddle, you'll need to carry everything on your yaks. But if you pack light, it shouldn't be an issue. Please keep in mind that the back side of Cat is like being in the middle of no where, your VHF is only good line of sight, and big swells can interfere with both transmission and reception, and you won't be able to reach a repeater, so you'll likely have a 5 mile signal at best. So you might want to have a back up plan just in case conditions aren't favorable. If you get prime weather, you won't want to come back. |

I just spoke with the Catalina Flyer, they want you there at least 30 mins before the 4pm boat leaves for two harbors. So if we get there by 3 pm it should be fine.
So hopefully it will good weather and we can leisurely fish all the way back from little harbor on Sunday. ![]() For those of you leaving on Monday with Matt. The last boat to Marina Del Rey leaves at 4 pm Monday. |
