I and a few others fish with him on a regular basis and unfortunately also talk to him on a regular basis. I know that the minute he see's this he's going to print it, show it to his wife, kids, neighbors, his students and I'm also sure he'll frame it. The worst part is that he'll probably vacuum seal a copy of it and show it to us every trip and remind us during every phone conversation.

JUST GO FISHING!!!!!!
Thats how you better understand your environment. Just not in the rain because the rain can hurt you and fish are allergic to the rain........ ![]() |

Post if you feel like posting, dont if you dont. To each his own, it is what it is. I choose not to post more times than not. Not because I dont fish much (is 2 to 3 times a week a lot?) or dont catch fish (I dont have a waterproof camera thus I dont catch fish cuz i cant prove it) but its just not my thing anymore. To be completely honest im here more to look at quality fish porn and enjoy the stories. I dont fish in most the areas you all fish anyway so a timely report on a given area doesnt bother nor make me happy. I just enjoy the reads and try to learn something new every chance I get. Id put myself in the #3 slot without the wanting to know where to fish part, and the #5 slot also cuz who am I to tell you what you can and cant post and when you can and cant do it, nor do I care.
Just my 2 cents... |

I missed that thread Josh, thanks for sharing.
I liked Madscientist's quote about never catching a fish from the couch. Most of you won't see much of me out in LJ fishing for the elusive YT, WSB or Halibut anymore. I will still chase them from time to time but I've change my passion towards Calico Bass, Sand Bass, and Spotted Bay Bass. The thing I know about those species is that they will always be there and for me they are fun to catch. I voted "No" I don't share or post right away because when I did I got crap for it just like many others. Most of my crap was from phone calls and not on a private forum. Soon, I was no longer in the "Click" because I was known for ruining bites. I had to be a Pioneer and create my own bites which I did from time to time but not all the time. So, moving forward, I now enjoy sharing my fishing days with others and no one cares about BASS. To most of you they are by catch. But to me, a 6 pound Calico is a trophy. The next time I catch a nice fish in LJ, I will not have a problem posting a picture and a story. I feel I have grown up and those around me will either accept me for who I am or avoid me like the plague. I've been around this industry for a long time now and I think you should do whatever you feel is good. Have fun and fish! ![]() TL- Matt Moyer |

Let the POLL CONTINUE:!!!! 425 views and only 26 people voted???
What i have been taught and what i agree on... ( You can disagree or agree ) Post your comments and put in your answer in the poll. (its raining so pull out the popcorn) ![]() Matt aka Stinkymatt, always gives me a earful for not posting current on the water reports. I use to post current on the water reports, but I use to get alot of hate messages. So now I wait a few weeks on public forums. I Also don't like to post my honey holes but I'll share a hot bite with my fellow kayakers by private messages. Especially the people who helped me learn to fish. Most of the people who share hot bites don't want me to post a bite so I follow their wishes, since they spent countless of hours to find it. On the other hand if someone wants to share a hot bite, I do not care. I just won't post one myself because I have been taught the underground kayakfishing laws by my teachers. Have I been taught wrong? I don't think so. I use discretion now on what i post. Quote:
Josh said" learn to read between the lines" so I have, but it also helPs having friends that share current intel by pm. I do like this site very much, I met most of you through the site. I am also able to get a fishing buddy through this site whenever I go out. So to finish my story: I will protect a hotbite because that is what I have been taught. I for one HATE trying to fish in a crowded spot, but I'll do it. Go out and fish you won't catch anything by reading this and you won't find your own honey holes if you just stay at home. The ocean is big, make some friends and go out. Have fun -frank Quote:

The question is:
Should we post a up to date current fishing report that may potentially expose a hot bite to Everyone? This will give hundreds of people a chance to catch a fish. This is the question for the poll. The popcorn is a figure of speech for those that are sitting on their computers watching where this thread may head.

Whats a Hot Bite?
. . I posted a YT report on Saturday night, the same day I caught it (after 11 hours on the water) "Red tide or not, fish gotta eat, and so do I!" http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ad.php?t=11541 Did this cause anyone to run out Sunday and fish, thinking it might be WFO? Would I run out and fish right away just because a number of fish reports were posted? Nope. Did I this year. Nope. What was happening 2 months ago - fish at midnight, with squid, and your pretty much guaranteed a WSB,,,,, just so happens I don't care to fall asleep on the water, or risk getting hit by a PB ![]() . . . Sometimes I post right away, sometimes I wait a week or two, nothing meant by it to me. Just depends on how I feel, and if there have been a lack of "Fish" reports lately. ![]() |

I don't believe in pigeonholeing myself into a category, especially when it comes to something in my life that is a recreational sport. That's exactly what I want to keep it. Get too hung up on the why's and how's of what everyone else is doing just takes away from why I do this for myself. And for extremely green newbies like myself this is one of the few and best resources to learn, meet new people and share the things that no one else in my day to day life understands. I can talk and talk about how excited I am after every trip out to my wife and my friends but they just politely nod and smile. It goes right over their heads. I posted a report and received a pm giving me some insight to what I might do to aviod possible risk of injury or worse. That's awesome. Exactly why I'm on this site and will continue to post my thoughts, reports and gratefully receive criticizim and advice.
