In most cases you will need to shorten the bolt about 3/8th in. Its easy to do with a hacksaw. Pictured below is a Diawa Saltist 40 that I just mounted. I use Stainless Bolts, and Stainless Lock Nuts on my reels (just a personal preference). However, the stock reel bolts will work just fine. On Avets you will need to shorten the bolts, and the stock nuts. Again, its not hard to do now that you have the recipe. Avet JX on a 90 J - Note the thin Piece of Rubber Inner Tube I use under the Reel Foot. No crushing here. ![]() ----------------------------- My Hobie is staying right here.
