no way to take a car that I am aware of. Catalina Express does not allow kayaks.

Long story short, taking a kayak to the island is impractical.
An eight hour (full day) rental is only $50.00. Just take your gear and leashes, etc. The rental place has couple of fishing kayaks with rod holders. Maybe you can call and reserve them. Do you know about the “free round trip on your birthday” deal on Catalina Express? You can PM me for more information about fishing in Catalina. I can also post here if there is an interest. |

Just in case you are looking for a cheaper way to get there, I see they have the 1/2 price ($35) tickets for the Catalina Express on Goupon.
