Writing about science is not the same thing as writing science.

you sure do LOVE to hear yourself talk don't you Jim Day?
Unfortunatelysome of us are too busy actually fishing to care or listen to your rhetoric, or continue beating this dead horse ![]() Keep searching for the scientific publications that refute your opinions..... but FYI you will not find any. This might be difficult for you but, either: A) try to believe that you might not know everything about everything B) be patient The scientists are working on analyzing the data, attending conferences, discussing the data and methods, and being furloughed by the government shutdown...... They latest data is still being collected and the publications are not even written yet! Science is not exactly as clean and cut as welding.... but you know that right? I know that this is hard to understand, but scientists try to make sure they leave opinions out of their papers. Controversial things like this take time! The results for the publications which you are looking is years from being ready to publish. Do you believe that? Is that OK with you?

DJ Ehret et al. 2012. Origin of the white shark Carcharodon (Lamniformes: Lamnidae) based on recalibration of the Upper Neogene Pisco Formation of Peru. Palaeontology 55 (6): 1139–1153. Damn that sounds kinda familiar, those are peer reviewed hard science sources and they all seem to agree with me. Funny thing: when you base your opinions on actual science, it's actually pretty easy to find legitimate peer reviewed sources that agree with what you say. You might want to note the last two were just published recently so it's relatively new info to the game. I read some great write ups on that last one the Smithsonian recently published something about it.. You got to love it. For 150 years scientists falsely believed the whites were related to Megalodons and now they know they are seal eating Makos. The the fossils (from Peru) that prove it just happen to date to exactly to the time when the Otariidae sea lion explosion was happening in the Eastern Pacific. Really Exciting stuff, I was just blown away, you just can't make that shit up. So I like this game. Maybe you'd like more info from peer reviewed sources that agrees with me ? ![]() Last edited by Fiskadoro; 10-16-2013 at 10:42 AM. |

There's BS online but like dos ballenas said if you want accurate science in general you have to go to peer reviewed scientific sources because that's where the real science get's published for review by others in the field. When he asked for peer reviewed info it was actually kind of amusing, because I knew it was out there, and wouldn't be that hard to find. Those sources in the last post are current and legit. I probably should of posted some right away, but I though I like writing I really hate having to search for things or look things up. |

If you don't get it by now I don't think you'll ever get.

I missed this the first time I saw this pic but the key to having seemingly informed posts is to have one laptop to do research and the other to post/reply on forums. If things get heated you can then transition and use two laptops to post/reply to threads. Then when people get disinterested and stop replying you can just reply to yourself. I agreed with Kanye West being a creative genius until I came to this realization. This is a whole other level. This should really be in the "share your innovations" thread.
