Nice first flattie! Generally you can estimate by the last number in inches to guess the weight of a halibut: 24"=4lbs, 29"= 9 lbs, etc. That's usually fairly accurate within a pound or two until you get to the 35" mark and above as they get wider and/or thicker from there on out. I once saw a 33" that weighed 20 lbs, but that's rare. Your fish is likely anywhere from 12-16 lbs. Who cares what it weighs though, nice sized flattie by any measure!
